Hiram Live at Mirror Lab with John St. Pelvyn & Arrington De Dionyso – A Memorable Performance

Original poster by Arrington De Dionyso.

I had the incredible honor of performing at the Mirrorlab space recently, where I opened the evening for two remarkable artists, John St. Pelvyn and Arrington De Dionyso. I’m deeply grateful to have been included in such an inspiring and energizing event, and I want to extend a heartfelt thank you to both artists and the Mirror Lab team for making this unforgettable experience happen.

For this performance, I crafted a minimal solo set that felt deeply connected to both the natural world and the realms of sound exploration. I presented a new arrangement for Walnut Bass Flute and analog synthesizer in Pentatonic D Minor, incorporating data sonification technology. This involved sourcing frequencies from a Golden Pothos plant, along with chimes, magnetic tape, tanpura, and electronic processing, creating a truly unique and immersive sonic experience.

The set felt like a gentle opening to the night, setting the stage for a dynamic evening of fiery improvisation and transformative catharsis, led by John St. Pelvyn and Arrington De Dionyso. Their performances brought even more depth and vibrancy to the space. I was truly honored to be a part of this remarkable evening. The entire night was a blend of creativity, connection, and community, and I’m so thankful to have shared that moment with all those in attendance.

Thanks be. 🙏
