"Immersion" Premiere at Wood Lake: A Live Eco-Music Event
Can We Breathe Underwater?
Join us for an unforgettable morning as Art for Water and MN Water Stewards present:
HIRAM - “Immersion”
A live outdoor performance of new eco-music and environmental sound.
I’m thrilled to invite you to the premiere of my latest site-specific composition, Immersion. This long-form electro-acoustic work is a heartfelt exploration of water’s timeless journey—its transformations from liquid to vapor, from the skies to our homes, and back again.
Immersion is built on a foundation of field recordings and underwater hydrophone sounds I collected from the Wood Lake Nature Center and the Minnehaha Watershed area. These organic sounds blend with wooden flutes, brass bowls, woodwind instruments, analog synthesis, magnetic tape, and electronic processing to create an evocative sonic experience that resonates with the natural world around us.
This performance is free and open to the public, offering a unique opportunity to connect with nature, sound, and community.
Event Details:
Where: Wood Lake Nature Center
When: Saturday, August 13th at 10 AM

This project was made possible thanks to a generous grant from Hennepin County Environment & Energy, MN Water Stewards, and the Freshwater Society. I’m incredibly grateful for their support and commitment to fostering creative, public outreach centered on conservation and our shared natural resources.
I hope to see you there to experience this celebration of water, art, and sound.
