2023 MRAC Next Step Grant Recipient - Exciting New Studio Expansion!

I am thrilled to announce that I am a recipient of the prestigious 2023 MRAC Next Step Grant, a funding opportunity made possible by the McKnight Foundation. This year, I was selected from a highly competitive pool of 370 applicants from across the seven-county region. With only 9% of applicants receiving an award, I’m deeply honored to be chosen for this grant.

The Next Step Fund provides grants of up to $5,000 to artists in all disciplines, enabling them to take their work to the next level. This funding will be used to expand and develop my in-home recording studio and music production facility. These improvements will allow me to continue my exploration of sonic conservation and creative sound, deepening my work as an artist and environmental advocate.

This opportunity is made possible thanks to the support of the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and the voters of Minnesota, through a legislative appropriation from the Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund.

I am excited to expand my creative possibilities and continue crafting soundscapes that engage with the natural world. A special thanks to MRAC, the McKnight Foundation, and everyone who supports this work!
