A Golden Hour: Visible Light’s Debut at Wood Lake Nature Center

Reflections on The Golden Hour
Our recent outdoor listening event, The Golden Hour, at Wood Lake Nature Center was nothing short of magical. It marked the debut performance of Visible Light, our duo dedicated to weaving together the natural world’s rhythms with evocative music for cello, flute, and synthesizer. Surrounded by the vibrant hues of a late Summer sunset, this special evening was a celebration of sound, Nature, and community.

The setting was perfect. Wood Lake’s open spaces provided a serene backdrop where the crisp air carried notes of the season, and the interplay of light and shadow mirrored the dynamics of our performance. This wasn’t just a concert; it was an immersive experience, blending music with the living environment—a cornerstone of what Visible Light seeks to create.

We owe special thanks to Vincent Chadwick, whose photography captured the essence of the evening so beautifully. From golden skies to the quiet concentration of the audience, Vincent documented it all with such care that every image feels alive. His work conveys not just the details of the event but also the emotion, the connection between music and nature that we aim to share.

Here are a few of our favorite shots from the evening. As you browse them, we hope they transport you back to that moment or, if you weren’t able to join us, give you a glimpse of the harmony we felt there.

A Grateful Note
This event reminded us of why we create. Music has a way of grounding us, rooting us in shared moments, while also lifting us to reflect on something larger. Seeing so many people come together to listen and feel with us as the light softened and the evening unfolded was deeply moving.

To everyone who attended, thank you for being part of this beginning chapter for Visible Light. And to Vincent, thank you for your artistry behind the lens—it’s a gift to see the night through your eyes.

We’re already dreaming up our next event, and we hope you’ll join us again soon. Until then, enjoy these glimpses of The Golden Hour.
