Solstice Song: A Meditative Soundscape for Seasonal Balance

The Solstice marks a threshold—a moment of balance, a turning point where light shifts and the seasons move forward. Solstice Song was created in this space of quiet transition, an offering for reflection, deep listening, and presence.

This piece began at the water’s edge in Hidden Falls Regional Park, recorded in a single evening as the last light faded. I listened to the movement of water under ice, the hush of the trees, and the subtle shift in the air as time stood still. The solstice is a time of listening—to the world around us, to what’s changing, and to what’s waiting to emerge.

Now, as the Vernal Equinox arrives, this release closes the cycle, bringing the work full circle. Just as the Solstice marks pause, the Equinox signals new life—a moment where light returns.

With bamboo chimes, brass bells, warm synthesizers, and the ever-moving flow of water, Solstice Song invites you into this liminal space—a meditation on balance, new chapters, and the spaces in between.
